Carol Corbett

Carol A. Corbett,71, of Crystal Lake and formerly of Rolling Meadows, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011.

Born on September 22, 1939 in Chicago, she was the daughter of the late Robert G. and Ruby (Barnes) Stephens.

When she was a young lady, she met a young man by the name of Leroy Corbett at a wedding and asked him to dance. Little did she know at that time that she was dancing with her future husband. On February 4,1955, they were united in marriage.

Years ago, Carol was a Girl Scout leader. She was an enthusiastic reader and especially enjoyed Agatha Christy books and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. She was always ready to play lively on-line game of POGO. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Leroy; her children, Debra Pritchett, Lee Corbett, Robert ( Sandra) Corbett, Kelly Corbett, and David (Laura) Corbett; her 17 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and son-in-law Bill Sunter.

Those preceding her in death are her parents, her brother, Robert Stephens, and her dear friend, Harry.

The visitation will be held from 3-8pm, Monday, August 1 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. The funeral service will begin at 11am, Tuesday, August 2 at the funeral home with Rev. David Zinck officiating. Interment will be private.
