Carol (Wikert) Kenny

Carol Ann Kenny, 76, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022 at The Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.  She was born September 10, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA to John “Jack” and Nora Collins Wikert, and was younger sister to both John “Jack” Wikert and Valerie (Wikert) Schneider.

While still living in Pittsburgh, Carol met her husband, James, and they married in 1967.  Together, they shared a long and loving 51 years of marriage, before Jim’s passing in early 2019.  As a young couple, they lived in New York, NY and San Antonio, TX, eventually settling in Crystal Lake, IL in 1973.  Carol worked for several local companies including Baird & Warner, Square D, and eventually Aptargroup, where she worked as an Executive Assistant for nearly 30 years before retiring in 2012.

Carol was a passionate reader, a talented cook, and had a love for traveling, especially when and where she could spend time with family and close friends.  Her fondest memories were of road trips in the convertible, cruising through Alaska and Europe, and the occasional trip to Kiawah Island with her sister, where she loved nothing more than to dip her toes in the sand and curl up with a good book.

Carol is survived by her sons Steve (Elizabeth) and Ryan (Laurel); and grandchildren Sarah, Riley, Emily, Harper, and Nolan.  She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.  Her genuine kindness, support, and care of others will be forever missed.
