Carole Zimmermann

Born May 8, 1933 in Chicago, the daughter of Sven Arthur and Caroline (nee Trapp) Erlandson, she passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in Barrington.

On July 19, 1952 at Nebo Lutheran Church in Chicago, Carole was united in marriage to George Zimmermann.

Carole will be dearly remembered as a devoted servant to the church. For over 50 years she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the church council and was also a member of the altar guild. Most of all, Carole was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

In addition to her loving husband of 64 years, George, she is survived by her loving children, Lee (Beth), George (Elise), Cheryl (David), and Kurt (Tera); her cherished grandchildren, Ethan, Caroline (Jonathon), Lydia, Summer (Matthew), Luke (Erin), Tyler, (Carly), Kelsey, Justin and Jordan; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Nathan, Daniel, Annabelle, Keegan, Hayden, Finn, and Violet.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Art Erlandson.

Friends may visit with Carole’s family on Thursday, September 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 909 E Main St., Barrington. The funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, September 30, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with visiting beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will take place at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, following the funeral luncheon.
