Carter J. Lamb, 58, of Cary passed away December 18, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born September 4, 1959 in Hinsdale, IL to Carter H. and Jean M. (nee Dogger) Lamb.
Prior to being medically retired, Carter worked as a manufacturing engineer for Navistar, Nissan Forklift and Echo, Inc. He was a member of Living Grace Community Church, where he helped with the upkeep of church property and the AWANA program. In his younger days, Carter enjoyed completing projects around the house, especially woodworking. He also enjoyed supporting his children’s church, athletic and musical activities.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Barb (Basta) Lamb; his children, Elise Lamb and AJ Lamb; mother, Jean M. Lamb; and sisters, Meg (Ray) Henaughan and Beth (Rich) Shafer; and several nieces and nephews.
Carter was preceded in death by his father, Carter H. Lamb.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, from 4 until 8 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. The funeral will be at 11 am on Saturday, December 23, at Living Grace Community Church, 1500 Silver Lake Rd., Cary with a short visitation starting at 10 am.
