Catherine Mura

Catherine Mura, 85, of Barrington, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Monday, March 18th, 2019 in Barrington. She was born on July 29th, 1933 to Silas and Catherine Jerry Cartland in Park Ridge.

Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 51 years of marriage, Romeo E. Mura II; daughters, Theresa Mura and Trinette (David) DiGangi; grandchildren, Stella Rose Bud and Leo Rome DiGangi, brothers, John T. (Paula) Cartland and Silas (Barbara) Cartland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Jones and Abigail (Jim) Hollister.

Catherine was an accomplished artist, devoted wife and mother. She had a most giving heart working with the Salvation Army and Catholic Charities. Both Catherine and Romeo received the "Heart of Charity Award" in 2007 for their devotion to Catholic Charities and helping those in need. She was an avid supporter of the local arts and contributed her artistic skills to many organizations and charities. She was on several Lyric Opera boards and was recognized as a distinguished member of The Barrington Area Council of Aging.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 25 from 9:00am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela St. Barrington, IL.
