Catherine Juliane Sophia Wert,92, of Lakemoor, passed away, May 16,2012, in Barrington.
She was born on February 2, 1920 to Gunner and Kristine Gundersen in Chicago.
In Catherine’s younger years she was “Miss Norway” in the 1938 May Day parade in Chicago, she also enjoyed swimming and water ballet. She worked several years for Borg Warner, where she eventually retired in 1985. In later years, traveling to Florida with her daughter and family was what she enjoyed most of all.
Cherished mother and best friend of, Carole (Jerry Solarz) Taylor-Solarz; grandmother to Bill Taylor, Tammy Taylor and Lisa (Ted) Karavos; great grandchildren, Nicole, TJ, Alexa, Bill and Peter.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Aagot Jorgensen and brother, George Gundersen.
