Catherine Mary Waters

Catherine Mary Waters (nee Clements), age 85, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024.

Catherine was born in Chicago, IL on August 23, 1939 to the late Arthur and Cecilia (nee DeCaluwe) Clements. She dedicated 50 years of her life as a mother-baby nurse. She was an avid reader, with Daniel Steele novels being among her favorites. Her true joy, however, was her family. She was a loving wife to Charles Waters for 54 years and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother always putting her family before herself. Known for her strength and selflessness, she hosted unforgettable Christmas celebrations, ensuring that everyone was well-fed and happy. Her warm hospitality created cherished memories that will be remembered by all. Her legacy of love, strength, and family devotion lives on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Catherine is survived by her loving children, Charles (Jamie) Waters, Jerome (Barb) Waters, Kimberly (Ben) Waters-Lipsky, and Elizabeth Waters; cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Sabrina) Waters, Joseph Lipsky, Markie Rae Waters, Kendall (Gabriel Didier) Waters, and Spencer (Ethan) McEachern; great-grandchildren, Mia, Charles, Landon, Nicholas Lane, Axton, Eliza, Avery, Logan, Rowen, and Lucy; siblings, Ceil Clements and Bud (Anne) Clements; grand-dogs, Kita and Skye; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Charles H. Waters; parents, Arthur and Cecilia Clements; and brother, Alan Clements.

A visitation for Catherine will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 4pm until 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A second visitation will be held the following morning from 9:30am until the time of mass at 10:30am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 N 1st St, Cary, IL.
