Charles Kenneth Lemker

Charles Kenneth Lemker, 85, of Crystal Lake, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at his home in Crystal Lake. He was born January 29, 1933 in Harvey, IL to Charles A. and Grace M. (nee Omundson) Lemker.

Chuck was a 1954 graduate of the School of Agriculture at University of Illinois. He was also a member of Alpha Gamma Rho. After graduation, he joined the US Army as a 2nd lieutenant in the Alaskan Communications System. Chuck worked for IBM for several years, and after many moves around the country, he settled in Crystal Lake in 1975. He retired from Keebler Foods in 1995, after a 30 year career in Management Information Systems. Chuck enjoyed animals, reading, gardening, coin collecting, target shooting, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Lemker, whom he married February 5, 1955; his children, Jill Bartlett, and Julie Carlson; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; his sister, Elizabeth Louise (the late Richard) Stafford; his niece; and his sister in law, Susan (Robert) Scoggins Smith.

He is preceded in death by his son, Dale Lemker; his niece and nephew; and his parents.

Services and interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
