The Mass of Christian Burial for Charles A. “Bud” McCarthy, 89, of Sleepy Hollow formerly of Barrington, will be held at 9 a.m., Monday, September 30, at St. Anne Church, 120 N. Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin St.), Barrington, where the family will receive friends from 8 a.m. until the time of Mass. The celebrant will be Father Jack Dewes. Interment will be private.

There will also be a visitation from 3-8 p.m., Sunday, September 29, at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake.

Born November 16, 1923, in Chicago, he passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Presence Pine View Care Center, St. Charles.

Always “doing what love required” Bud is survived by his loving companion, Ione Rice; children, Adrienne (Paul) Kalmes, Paul, Lisa West, Brian (Kathy), Giles (Val), George (Regina), Adam (Peggy), Meredith (Tom) Ford, Noel (Pilar) McCarthy; daughter-in-law, Richelle McCarthy; 27 loving grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean C. (nee Beringer), whom he married July 27, 1950, in Chicago; son, Charles III; son-in-law, Chuck West; brother, Richard; and sister, Kay Bigelow.
