Charles Meroni

Charles F. Meroni Jr, age 94, of Barrington Hills, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 16, 2025. Charles was born in Evanston, IL on August 3, 1930.

He received his B.A. degree from Colorado College, his J.D. degree from John Marshall Law School and was registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and many other branches of law regarding intellectual property.

His career began at Hill, Sherman, Meroni, Gross & Simpson where he became a partner. He then established the intellectual property firm Vigil, Meroni & White, in Barrington, Illinois and ultimately founded his own firm, Meroni & Meroni, P.C. in Barrington Hills, Illinois .

He had a serious love for nature and animals (especially raccoons). He also loved the outdoors and walking around his home in Bellwood estates. He was an avid sports fan, and an extremely loving grandfather to his 16 grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Patty Meroni (nee Latta). He is also survived by his children, Janice (Russ) Marrazzo, Sharon Meroni, Denise (Guy) Shaw, Laura (Craig) McCammack, David (Lucy) Meroni; and step-daughters Lisa (Javi) Castells, and Heather Albright. He was a devoted grandfather to Joseph Marrazzo, Nicholas Marrazzo, Daniel Marrazzo, Krystal Koskinen, Joel Koskinen, Geoffrey Vollman, Vanessa O’Donnell, Valerie Kinyon, Jonathan Vollman, Robert Vollman, Cole McCammack, Kevin McCammack, Connor McCammack, Isabella Meroni, Sergi Castells, Michael Castells; and also 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Katherine Meroni; son Charles Thomas Meroni; and grandson Charles B. Meroni.
