Charlotte Crumrine

Charlotte A. Crumrine, of Wolfe City, Texas, formerly of Barrington, IL and Fort Myers, FL passed away on January 12, 2015 at the age of 94.

She was born November 3, 1920, in Chicago to Ruben and Pearl Adams.

Charlotte moved to Barrington at the age of 3. She was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church. She attended Barrington schools graduating in the class of 1938. Charlotte married Roy A. Crumrine on August 4, 1942, in Olympia, Washington. When Roy returned from the war in 1945, they settled in Barrington raised their 6 children. She was a troop leader in the Girl Scouts of America, and a den mother of the Boy Scouts of America. She was a member of the JOY class at Salem United Methodist Church, and active in the VFW auxiliary. Charlotte worked as a bookkeeper for Lipofsky's Department Store for 16 years, until her retirement in 1979.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Margaret (Robert) White, Robert (Corinne) Crumrine, James (Naty) Crumrine, Suzanne (Christopher) Peters, Patricia (Allen) Willer, and John (Karen Horkitz) Crumrine; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Ruben and Pearl Adams; her brother Clarence (Charlie) Adams, and her loving husband of 59 years, Roy A. Crumrine.

Visitation will be held from 3-8p.m., Monday, February 9, 2015, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook), Barrington, IL 60010.

The visitation will continue from 9:30a.m., until the funeral service at 10:30, Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Salem United Methodist Church, 115 West Lincoln Ave, Barrington, IL 60010.
