Cheryl L. Brincks

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Cheryl L. Brincks, 75, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023. She was born on June 26, 1948, in Wausau, WI to Earl and Opal Poeske.

On July 20, 1974, she married the love of her life, Richard J. Brincks, in Wausau. Together, they celebrated 40 beautiful years of marriage until his passing in 2014.

She cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She was always the first to offer help.  Her love of cooking/baking and hosting get-togethers were enjoyed by many.  Cheryl was a talented seamstress, loved crafting and most of all being a grandma.  She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, her Monday morning breakfast crew, volunteering at the Food Pantry and Faith in Action, and traveling with friends and family.  She served as a foster care mother to many as her unconditional love was unwavering.  Up until the end, Cheryl maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her life and God.

Cheryl will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sarah (Andrew) Brincks-Loy; her granddaughters, Meredith and Olivia Loy, and Brooke Brincks; her sister, Sally (Donald) Biere; her niece, Kimberly (Michael) Augustine; her nephew Matthew (Colleen) Biere; her service dog, Duke; and many family members who each hold a special place in her heart.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason Brincks; her parents; and her brother Thomas Poeske.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11 AM at Ridgefield-Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church, 8505 Church St, Crystal Lake, IL 60012.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medical Mutts Service Dogs Inc , Ridgefield Crystal Lake Presbyterian Church or JDRF Foundation .
