Cheryl Klein

Cheryl A. Klein, 66, of Woodstock passed away January 30, 2016. She was born on January 4, 1950, in Chicago, to Edward and Florence Grosskopf.

Cheryl married the love of her life, John Klein, in Chicago on June 17, 1972. She graduated with an RN degree from St. Mary’s School of Nursing and also holds a bachelor’s degree in psycology from the University of Illinois. She was a caring nurse for over 44 years working at Children’s Memorial in Chicago, Good Shepherd in Barrington, and NIMC in McHenry.

Cheryl was very involved with her family and community. She was a member at Resurrection Parish in Woodstock. She loved her role as a Cub and Boy Scout Leader watching her two boys climb the ranks to Eagle Scouts. Cheryl also enjoyed gardening, cooking, outdoor sports, especially skiing, hiking, and fishing.

Cheryl will be sadly missed by her husband, John; boys, Andrew (Alexis) Klein and Daniel (Jorge) Klein; grandsons, Jack and Lukas; and siblings, Caryn (Jim) Meyers and Charles Grosskopf.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cheryl was a very loving, caring and compassionate wife, mother and friend.

A memorial visitation has been planned for Saturday, February 6, from 4 pm until 8 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake.
