Chester Jackson

Chester “Chet” L. Jackson, 82, of Crystal Lake, died, November 21, 2013, in McHenry surrounded by loving family.
He was born on January 5, 1931, to William and Agnes Jackson, in Paragould, Arkansas.
His smile, his hugs, and his kind words immediately made you feel like you were part of his family. He served in the Korean War and was extremely proud of his service to our great country. His wife, Colleen, children, & grandkids were his proudest moment and he lit up every time they were around.
Chet is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Colleen Jackson (nee Schultz); children, Suzanne (Randy) Gordon, Peggy (Jeff) Bookman, Tami (Brad) Huffman, J.R. (Jacque) Bookman, Heidi Bookman, and Kris (Anne) Bierman; grandchildren, Nicholas, Mijdaya, Antonio, Jesse, Martin, Patricia, Alison, Mike, Carrie, Sierra, Cassidy, Tiffany, Cheyanne, Kaylee, Emma, Jeffrey, Christopher, Misty, Traci, Kara and Ashley; 34 great-grandchildren; brother, John William (Pansy) Jackson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great grandson, Nicholas Martinez; brother, Kenneth Jackson and his parents.
Memorials may be made directly to the family.
Visitation will be held from 5-9p.m., with military honors and a prayer service held at 7p.m., Tuesday, November 26, 2013, cremation to follow at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
