Christina Dovidio

Lake Barrington, Illinois,A Mass of Christian Burial for Christina Dovidio (nee Pellegrino), 101 of Barrington and formerly of Arlington, Massachusetts, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 10 2010 at St. Anne Church, ( corner of Franklin and Ela Sts.), Barrington, where she will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Christina passed away on July 2, 2010 in her home at Lake Barrington Woods. She was born November 19, 1908, in Gaeta, Italy, and after embarking on a 23-day ocean journey arrived in America in 1928 at the age of 20. Christina is the beloved mother of Rosemarie (Thomas) Mitchell; devoted grandmother of Lisa (Daniel) McGeough, Christina (Enrico Cesaretti) Ball, Thomas (Oxana) Mitchell, and Marisa (Mark) Fasciano; loving great-grandmother of Caroline, Danny, and Sean McGeough; Mila Cesaretti; Gemma, Ava, and Luca Fasciano; kind sister of Angelina (Vincenzo) Marino; fond aunt of Emily (Guy) Zuccarello and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaetano Dovidio; her parents, Anna (Taccone) and Cosmo Pellegrino; and her sisters, Mary Dellovo, Rose Fantasia, and Italia Ugliano.
