Christine E. Garite

Christine Estelle Garite, 69, of Barrington, was born December 24, 1948 in Chicago to Stanley and Genevieve (nee Fornal) Rzentkowski. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 in Barrington.

Christine was a loving and dedicated caretaker. She was a long-time employee of Journeycare Hospice in Barrington. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Fighting Illini. She also enjoyed puzzles, holidays, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren at Timberlake Beach.

Christine is survived by her husband of 48 years, Peter M. Garite, whom she married on September 7, 1969; her children, Michaeline (Tim) May of Dawsonville, GA, and Peter C. (Amy) Garite of Lake Zurich; her grandchildren, Aidan, Victoria, and Kira May and PJ and Flynn Garite; and her siblings, Camille Walton, Nora Bodzioch, and Carol Velasco.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy Rzentkowski, Stanley W. Rzentkowski; and her parents.

A visitation will be held from 4-8pm Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9am until time of prayers at 9:30am proceeding to Transfiguration Catholic Church, 316 W. Mill St., Wauconda for Mass at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
