SSgt. Christopher J. Antonik Christopher J. Antonik, SSgt. USMC, 29, of San Clemente, California and formerly of Crystal Lake, Illinois was killed in action July 11, 2010 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
On May 4, 1981 he was born to John and Cindy Antonik in Chicago, Illinois. He was united in marriage to Erin Gilbert on December 12, 2009.
For over 9 years, he proudly served our nation as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
His survivors include his beloved wife, Erin Antonik of San Clemente, California; his devoted parents, John and Cindy Antonik of Antioch, Illinois; his dear sister, Jen (Ken) Bond of Surprise, Arizona; his adoring nieces and nephews, Kylie and Xander Bond and Jack and Alexa Farmer; his cherished Grandma Florence Antonik; and his dog and faithful companion Chase.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather Alex Antonik and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Shaw.
The visitation will be from 2-9pm, Sunday, July 18 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, Illinois. The funeral service will be at 12 Noon, Monday, July 19 at the Evangelical Free Church, 575 E Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake with Pastor Kerry Bauman and Pastor John Engberg officiating. Interment will be private.
