Born February 24, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Marion Lester and Mary Margarette Roberts, Christopher passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014.
Christopher was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Purdue University, and University of Minnesota with degrees in sociology and hospital administration. He was an avid Chicago sports fan and author. He was Vice President of Operations at Buhl Press, and most recently held a position with the Durham Bus Company.
Chris was a philosopher of life, an avid reader and consummate sports enthusiast. Chris never lacked for an opinion on current politics and social justice issues. He enjoyed good meals, especially stone crab legs and any home-baked pie. He loved his family and longed for lasting peace and connection to all those dear to him.
Christopher was a devoted father to Rachel (Daniel) Wanland, Caitlyn (Matthew) Koziol, Amanda Roberts, and Benjamin Roberts; loving grandfather to Lukas and Myalee; brother to Dianna (John) Atkins, Brian (Louise) Roberts, Anne Roberts, Timothy (Michelle) Roberts, and Rebecca (Robert) Moore; and former wife, Kim Sliwa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and niece, Elizabeth.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at Noon at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
