Christopher Andrew Sladon

Christopher Andrew Sladon, age 42, passed away on June 1, 2022 at his home in Barrington.  He was born on February 25, 1980 in Lake Forest, IL to Ronald A. Sladon and Laura (Olsen) Sladon. The family lived in Libertyville, IL until 1983 when they moved to Winchester, Kentucky. Chris later lived in Round Lake Beach, IL then back to Richmond, Kentucky.  He graduated from Madison Central High School 1999.

Chris loved all kinds of music and going out to breakfast. He cooked a mean steak. He enjoyed playing hockey in his youth. He worked on his grandparent’s farm in Lexington, KY.  He was very good with animals. He enjoyed yacht racing and participated in many Chicago Yacht Club races including several winning Queens Cup and Mackinac races on the boat Collaboration 2 between 2004 and 2011.  He traveled the USA helping his brother Tim who worked for several moving companies, later earning his own CDL and driving for Advantage Moving Company.  Chris loved his family. He was a fiercely loyal friend and a hard worker. A generous, gentle giant, he will be greatly missed.

Chris is survived by his grandparents, Robert & Isabel (Robinson) Olsen; his mother, Laura Olsen; his brothers Robert B. and Timothy P. Sladon; his nephew Miles Patrick Sladon; his niece Layla Eleanore Sladon; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Ronald B. Sladon; his grandparents, Ronald A. Sladon and Maryann Sladon, his Aunt Victoria Sladon, and Uncle Thomas B. Olsen.

Services will be held June 11, 2022 at Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Rd. Barrington, IL. 60010 with visitation from 10-11am followed by the funeral service at 11am.
