Clarence D. Voss, of Crystal Lake, passed away December 1, 2021, two days shy of his 89th birthday.
He was born December 3, 1932 in Chicago, the son of the late Clarence Carl and Lauretta (nee Strauss) Voss.
Clarence proudly served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He worked for Oak Manufacturing for many years in Crystal Lake. Clarence enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, was a long-time member of the Woodstock Square Dancing Club, and enjoyed free time at Woodhaven Lakes.
Clarence is survived by his sister, Roberta (Tom) Zikmund; his nephews, Bruce (Kiki), Kyle (Stephanie) and Todd (fiancée, Tania); his great-nieces, Veronica (Chris), Cloey (Sarah), Bella, Paige, Corinne and Evelyn; great-nephews, Jake, Dean (Claire), and August; and his step-daughter, Pam (Greg) Monheim.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Jones Voss in 2011.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 from 8:30am until prayers held at 9:30am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176) Crystal Lake, with procession to follow to St. Thomas Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Ave, for the funeral Mass at 10am. Burial will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock. The family requests masks are worn for services. Due to the pandemic, a memorial luncheon will be held at a later time.
