Cleon Delores (Fulle) Nelsen

Cleon Delores Nelsen, nee Fulle, 92 passed away peacefully at her home in Barrington, Illinois on April 3, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years Clifford D. Nelsen.  Born in Des Plaines Illinois in 1929 to Bernice and Fred A. Fulle, she graduated from Maine Township High School, and attended Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois.  She met her future husband Clifford in 1954, while an editor at the Des Plaines Suburban Times, when she edited his letters to the newspaper from the Arctic during his expedition on the exploration Schooner Bowdoin.  They were married in 1955.  Mother of 4 children, Christina (David) Straw III, C. Davis (Susan) Nelsen II, Carol (Frederick) Maurice, C. Daniel (Susan) Nelsen. Known affectionately as Honey by her 10 grandchildren, plus 7 Great-grandchildren (and counting). While raising her family, she found time to volunteer for an impressive number of organizations, and in fact rose to the leadership of many. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Visitation followed by a service will be at 10am, April 23, 2022, at Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington Illinois 60010.
