Craig Butler

Craig A. Butler, 45, of Crystal Lake, formerly of Quincy, IL, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on December 13, 2016. He was born September 9, 1971 in Warner Robins, GA to Richard and Margaret (nee Bennett) Butler.

Craig was a die-hard sports enthusiast. He loved his Steelers, Cardinals and never missed an Indy 500. He loved wrestling, especially coaching his kids through the Crystal Lake Wizards. He enjoyed being outdoors and camping with family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor and left an impression on everyone he met. His wit and smile will be missed by all.

Craig will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 14 years, Susan (nee Philo); children, Bennett, 12; Edith, 10; Richard, 7; his brother Ian (Kelley) Butler; sister, Brigitte Butler; mother, Margaret; mother and father-in-law, Beth and Jim Philo; brothers and sisters-in-law, Patti (Dan) Richardson, Kristi (Mike) Irvin, John (Erica) Philo, Katie (Aaron) Morrow, Mark (Annieka) Philo; and by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2016, from 6 PM until 9 PM and resume on Monday, December 19, from 12 PM with a funeral service at 1 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. Interment will take place at a later date.
