Craig A. Woods

Craig A. Woods passed away peacefully March 2, 2022 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  He was born September 3, 1947 in Tulsa, OK to Ralph and Shirley Woods.

Craig taught English in the Cleveland Public Schools for many years before becoming Vice Principal. After retirement he was an instructor at Penn State University.  Like his father Craig was a private pilot.  He was a member of several bowling leagues, was an avid skier, and enjoyed singing in the Barrington Men’s Choir alongside his granddaughter in the Barrington Children’s Choir.

Craig is survived by his son, Nathan (Peggy) Woods; grandchildren, Nolan (Liz Behof) Woods, and Anne Woods; brother, Carl Woods; sister, Janet (Rick) Opland; nieces, Karen Stainbrook and Robin (Greg) Zgutowicz; nephew, Ryan Woods; and great nephews Logan and Ethan Zgutowicz.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 2pm until the funeral service at 4pm, Sunday March 6 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Road), Barrington.
