Cynthia “Cindy” Rapier (nee Alvey), 48
Born July 15, 1963 in Kankakee, IL, she passed away Feb. 12, 2012 at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington following a long battle with lung cancer.
Cindy was a newspaper carrier for the Kankakee Daily Journal for eight years, she loved animals, especially sheltering strays. She was an avid Michael Jackson Fan who enjoyed knitting and crocheting and cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
Cindy is survived by her parents Thomas and Sylvia Alvey, children Brandy (Pedro Ramirez Sr) Bentz, Nicole (William Carten) Bentz-Carten, Ryan Rapier, and Dalton Rapier, grandchildren Cameron Bentz and Noah Carten, and Pedro Jr. and Alexis Ramirez, brothers Michael (Gayle) and Tracy (Sheri) Alvey,and sister Sandra (Rick) Blanchette.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Leonard Bentz and her second husband Kevin Rapier.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm with a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday, February 24 at Schreffler Funeral Home, 1900 W. Court St., Kankakee, IL
