Dan B. Pomeroy

Dan B. “Bud” Pomeroy, 87, of Barrington, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 13, 2018.  He was born August 10, 1930 to the late Dan B. and the late Almeda (nee Plagge) Pomeroy. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Helene “Lanie” (nee Herriman) whom he married March 2, 1951 in Barrington, IL.  Father of Kathy (Jim) Roden and Dan Bradley (Sue) Pomeroy; grandfather of Dan (Angela) Roden, Jim (Robin) Roden, Kristen (Bill) Magner, Thomas Miller and Justin (Therese) Miller;  great grandfather of Ashton, Madison, Brandon, Kaylee and Jimie Roden, Brianna and CJ Magner, and Evelyn Rose and Fiona Rae Miller.  Dan is survived by his sister, Alice Jane (Jim) Thomas; sister-in-law, Carol (Pat) Herriman; nephew, David (Walli) Pomeroy; and by many more nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margie (Dick) Ahrens and Joanne (John) Kiple; and sister-in-law, Frederica (Keith) Pederson.

Dan’s family moved to Barrington in the mid-1800s and he spent the majority of his life as a resident there. When he was not living in his beloved home town he longed to return.  He was passionate about his work - his career in the HVAC industry spanned five decades. But above all else, he found true joy in the company of his beloved Lanie, friends and loved ones especially when a fine meal and a martini were included.  Other passions included automobiles, boats and Canadian fishing trips.  Dan was greatly loved and will be joyfully remembered by many.
