The Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel L. Johnson,90, of Barrington, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday at St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St. (corner of Ela and Franklin Streets), Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. Father Jack Dewes will officiate. Interment will be private.
Born May 15,1921, in Chicago, Daniel passed away peacefully September 5, 2011 at his home.
Daniel graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago and attended Jr. College for 2 years prior to enlisting in the Army Aircorp, where he served in WW II. Dan’s life-long career was in leather goods, where he worked at Humphrey’s Leather Good Company in Chicago. He also enjoyed gardening, bird watching and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine June (nee Buny), whom he married September 24, 1949 in Palatine; and daughter, Laura Stevens of Denver, CO.; grandchildren, Adam (Grace Stean) Stevens, Daniel Stevens, and Amanda (Matt) Rusten; and great grandson, Luke Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Gladys Johnson, and Kathryn Ellstrom.
In lieu of flowers memorials made to the charity of one’s choice, will be appreciated.
