Daniel Rivera, 72, born on December 8, 1949 in Santa Barbara, Honduras, where he was baptized in a Catholic church. He passed away on December 31, 2021. Daniel received his formal education at the Santa Barbara Public School and later earned a degree in Accounting. Daniel leaves behind those who will cherish his memory: his wife, Leslie (nee Dowdy); sons, Caelan A. and Luis R. Rivera; daughter, Francys Rivera; brother, Camilo Rivera; sisters, Maria C. and Jenny C. Rivera; his mother, Olga de Rivera; and all his nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Luis; and his brother, Luis Armando Rivera.

Daniel will be remembered for his passion for wrestling and fixing and building things. He was a carpenter who never encountered a job that he didn’t think he could do.

Those who knew Daniel would describe him as determined, generous, and loving.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal Lake.
