David Holtz

Crystal Lake, Illinois,David M. Holtz, 70 of Crystal Lake David M. Holtz, 70 of Crystal Lake, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in Crystal Lake. Born in Aurora, IL Dec. 23, 1940 he was the son of Donald and Phyllis (nee Huffman) Holtz. David loved the outdoors and was a nature lover with a passion for the Conservation District in McHenry County. David is survived by his wife of 43 years, Susan (nee Zoellick), whom he married on June 24, 1967. Also suviving are his children, Kathleen Holtz, Karen (Robert) Johnson, Kevin (Reanna) Holtz, and Kelly (Bill) Rett, grandchildren Patrick, Michael, Derek, Brittany, Jordan, Vanessa, Teagan, and Addison, sister Linda Naleway, and dear friend Mary Kerber. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Erin Rett. Visitation will be held from 4pm until 9pm Friday, Feb. 25 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake and from 10:30am until the time of the funeral service at 11:30am Saturday, Feb. 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 178 E. McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake. Interment in Crystal Lake Union Cemetery will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Immanuel Lutheran School, 300 S. Pathway Court, Crystal Lake 60014, or the McHenry County Conservation District 18410 US Hwy 14, Harvard, IL 60033.
