David Ta-ming Hsu, 42, of Algonquin, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 10, 2017.
He was the devoted husband to his beloved Betina, nee Alexa.; loving and proud father of three beautiful daughters, Abigail, Olivia, and Isabella; dear son of Wen-hsiung and Su-chuan Hsu; son-in-law of Barry and Ann Alexa; dear brother of Jack (Patricia) Hsu; brother-in-law of Stephanie (Mark) Baxter and Elizabeth Alexa; and loving uncle to nieces Alexa & Talin Baxter and nephews William & Henry Hsu.
Dave was born in Evanston, IL on June 29, 1975, and grew up in Chicago, Skokie, and Deerfield, IL. He graduated from St. John's Preparatory School and received a B.A. from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. Dave worked in financial services and was a trusted colleague and mentor to many. He was passionate about music and traveled the country to see the Grateful Dead and Phish with friends old and new. He was also an avid sports fan and cheered on the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Cubs in defeat and victory. He fulfilled a dream of seeing the Cubs win the World Series and even attended Game 3. Above all else, Dave prized his time with his family, his biggest achievement and fortune he would say. He will be best remembered for being quick to share a contagious smile and was always the life of the party. He was a genuine and loyal friend, which made him much loved.
Visitation will be 3-9pm, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, 60014 with the Memorial Service at 10am, Saturday, September 16 at the Funeral Home.
