David Kosak

David J. Kosak, 75, of Crystal Lake passed away January 25, 2017. He was born in Chicago to Walter and Adeline (nee Robajdek) Koscielniak on November 29, 1941.

David proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Big Red One, which is first infantry division of the U.S. Army.

He married Dolly Bruzzino on June 4, 1966 and just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

David had a passion for life. He could light up a room with his smile. He loved fishing and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dolly; children, Michael (Nancy) Kosak and Cheryl (Bryan) Smith; grandchildren, Bradley, Cullen, Nicholas, and Emma; brother, Roy (Carol) Koscielniak; sister, Marianne (John) Michnowski; sisters-in-law, Maureen Koscielniak and Diana (Joseph) Castaneda; brothers-in-law, Richard Selof and Robert Bruzzino; mother-in-law, Edna Bruzzino; and many nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Koscielniak; sister, Joyce Selof; and father-in-law, Ralph Bruzzino.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 29th, from 3 PM until 9 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake. Mass will be Monday, January 30th at 11 AM with a visitation starting at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
