David Lyons

David E. Lyons died September 22, 2014 in Barrington, Illinois. He was the son of Beatrice (Sherburne) and Howard Lyons, born March 17, 1930 in Chicago. He attended New Trier High School, where he made many lifelong friends, and graduated from Brown University as a varsity wrestler and member of Phi Delta Theta.
He and his family lived in Deerfield, Illinois, Wilmette, Illinois, and, most recently, Barrington, Illinois, where he maintained a large vegetable garden, the produce from which he loved to share with friends and the local food pantry. David spent many years with Lyons Band Instrument Company, Waterbury Rolling Mills, and finally as founder and President of Lyons Company, INC, manufacturer’s representatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Donald, son Robert and survived by his wife Patsy, his children, Cathy, Chris (Crystal), Gordon (Christine), grandchildren Jessica (Kyle Sprague), Matthew (Kandice), and Maggie, and great-grandchildren Daniel, Evan, Lillian, Willie, and Mary.
Visitation will be at Davenport Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St., Barrington, Saturday, Oct 4, from 10 AM to 1 PM, including a brief prayer service. Luncheon will follow.
