David Mergenthaler

David L. Mergenthaler, of Inverness, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2016 in Long Grove.
Born July 26, 1941 in Chicago Heights, he was the son of Adam and Nellie (nee Gregory) Mergenthaler and was raised in Glenwood, Illinois.
David graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights and received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University. He started his own company in 1979 and continued with such until retirement. As a serial entrepreneur, Dave started four additional ventures throughout his career.
For more than 35 years, Dave was active in the Fox River Grove Lions Club, holding various leadership positions over time. Similarly, his long-time interest in genealogy led to traveling many different states to do research and connect with an extended family network. Spending time with family and friends was always the thing Dave enjoyed most.
Dave is survived by his wife of 50 years, Grace Mergenthaler, his daughter, Dawn Mergenthaler, and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Tim (Cheryl), and Paul (Sally) Mergenthaler.
