David Richard Niequist, Doctor of Chiropractic, passed away in hospice on December 16, 2019, after a valiant battle with cancer.
David was born on January 28, 1953 in Elgin, Illinois, the son of Dr. Richard L. Niequist and Dorelise (Johnson) Niequist, both of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Laura (Lawrence) Niequist, to whom he was married on January 2, 1982; his sons Joshua and Jeremy, of Algonquin; step-mother, Faye Niequist, of Williston, VT; brothers Dan (Diane) of Crystal Lake and Dennis (Carol) of Algonquin; and sister Deborah (Randall) Waterman of Wheaton; and many beloved nieces and nephews and their children.
David was a lifelong resident of Algonquin, who graduated from Irving Crown High School in 1971, attended Northern Illinois University and Palmer College of Chiropractic,graduating in 1977. David joined in practice with his father and brothers, until his death. David attended Fox Valley Church, and as a gifted musician, excelled in leading worship there for many years. He loved the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks, and was never as happy as when he was fishing.
He leaves behind his loving family, friends, patients and church family. At his request, he was cremated, and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 10 AM on February 1, 2020, at Fox Valley Church in West Dundee Illinois, luncheon following.
