David A. Paul

David A. Paul, 84 of Lake in the Hills, IL and formerly of Chicago, IL was born on May 16, 1935 in Ukraine and passed away on November 19, 2019 in Elgin, IL. David was the loving and devoted husband of Mary (nee Brennan) for 55 years; cherished father of Katherine (Mark) Segal, Sandra (Brian) Forde, and the late Sheerie Ruzecki; dear grandfather of T.C., Brennan and Peyton; beloved brother of Arthur (Doris) Paul; and cousin, uncle and friend of many. David was preceded in death by brothers, Sam and Paul; sisters, Sandra and Shamirin; and his daughter, Sheerie Ruzecki. In his youth, David enjoyed working for the British military, winning every match he fought as a golden gloves fighter, and playing competitive soccer. He spent his career as an electrician and proud IBEW member, owned his own company, and enjoyed helping family and friends fix anything mechanical. In his retirement, he was a proud grandpa who took immense pride and joy watching and supporting his daughters, grandsons and granddaughter with virtually everything they pursued. He will be dearly missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, from 9:00am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00am at St. Mary Assyrian Church of the East, 660 Larson Ln., Roselle, IL 60172. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org/donate.
