A lifelong Bears and White Sox fan, David never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite Chicago teams. He was social, fun-loving, and always up for a good time. Whether he was vacationing with family, telling a joke with friends, or “just ordering pizza” for any occasion, he made life more enjoyable for those around him.
David was deeply involved in his community, including spending over 44 years as an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church. He volunteered in charitable organizations including the Hoffman Estates Jaycees, Crystal Lake Food Pantry, PADS, as well as served as a local election judge. He believed in helping others and always led with kindness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; daughter, Kristin (John) White; daughter-in-law, Heather Sweet; grandchildren, Taylor, Kendall, and Charles; sister, Janet; sister-in-law Karla (Ron); nephews and niece, Tom, Keith, Ryan, and Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepsiblings, Keith and Doris Ann; and his beloved son, Scott.
