Deborah A. Scheltens

Deborah A. Scheltens, 71, of Crystal Lake, was born on July 26, 1948 to the late Alvin and Anne Lucas and passed away peacefully at her home on October 23, 2019 surrounded by her family. Debbie was the loving wife of Neal Scheltens; devoted mother of Anne Marie (Bob) Sweet and Kristin (Jason) Dolan; cherished Zsa Zsa of Austin, Courtney, Jake and Lauren; and dear sister of Pam (Michael) Krysh and Jamie (Joy) Lucas.

Christmas Eve at Zsa Zsa's was always filled with cherished traditions including the surprise arrival of Santa and gifts, the "singing" of Silent Night and the reading of "Twas The Night Before Christmas".  Followed by a Christmas morning extravaganza.

Debbie's family always enjoyed a refrigerator overflowing with "house specialities" including, ham rolls ups, pasta salad, the ever famous Zsa Zsa cookies and of course lobster tail and crab leg dinners.

Many family memories were made while vacationing at their condo in Ft. Myers Beach, FL.  Among Debbie's favorites were lunch at Doc's while watching her grandkids playing in the waves, S'mores on the beach, Thanksgiving dinners and enjoying picture perfect sunsets from their balcony.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, from 9:00am until the time of her service at 11:00am at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
