Debra Ann Bowyer

March 10, 1962 — August 28, 2021

Davenport Crystal Lake

With her family by her side, Debra (Debbie) Ann Bowyer went to our Lord in the early morning of August 28, 2021 in Trout Valley. She suffered for years with Crohn’s Disease, but in November 2020 she was diagnosed with stage 4B Cervical Cancer. She bravely fought with dignity until the end.

She was born in McHenry on March 10, 1962 to Frank and Jackie (nee Bell) Penze. Her childhood was spent in Island Lake enjoying swimming and boating with her cousins and friends. During her high school years the family moved to Trout Valley. She graduated from Cary-Grove High School and attended MCC. Her top priority was spending time with her beloved family and her dog, Toby. She enjoyed shopping and soaking up the sun outdoors.

Besides her parents, she leaves behind her daughter Courtnie (Nick) Ewton of Katy, Texas and her son Ian Byrne of Colorado; brother Michael (Lisa) of Kansas City; uncles and aunts Joe (Carol) Penze of Las Vegas, Richard Penze of Maryland; nephews Jeremy (fiance Maggie) Penze of Lake in the Hills, Christopher Penze,  and Alan Penze, of Kansas City; and niece Dana (Chris) McAllister, of Kansas City; and many cousins. Thanks to the nurses at JourneyCare, and Migla and Julie at Comfort Keepers for their care and kindness.
