Debra "Debbie" Doll-Power

Debra “Debbie” Doll-Power, 68, of Island Lake, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025. Born on December 28, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois, to Jack and Arlene Doll, Debbie grew up in the vibrant Old Irving Park neighborhood, where she began cultivating deep compassion and strength that would define her life.

Debbie built a distinguished career as a makeup artist, earning admiration for her remarkable talent, warm demeanor, and genuine care for others. She worked for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics and Nordstrom, where she had a gift for helping clients look and feel their best. Known for her approachable nature and love of connection, she formed countless lasting friendships with clients and colleagues alike.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Debbie was a devoted daughter, selflessly caring for her parents in their later years. Her dedication to family was unwavering, a testament to the love and respect she held for those closest to her.

Debbie embraced life with enthusiasm and a spirit of adventure. She found joy in the outdoors, whether camping under the stars, playing tennis, or lacing up her running shoes. Her passion for fitness was rivalled only by her love for family and the simple pleasures of life. Above all, she cherished time spent with her loved ones. She would always say that her greatest accomplishment was being a mother and raising her son, Austin.

She is survived by her beloved son, Austin (Brelynn) Smith; cherished grandchildren, Stetson and Baby Girl Smith, due soon; her brothers, Jim (Joy), Tom (Roxanne), and Bill (Pam) Doll; her former husband, Steve Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Power.
