Delphine Marie Przyborski, 84, of Crystal Lake, completed her journey home to the Lord on September 28, 2014, in Barrington.
She was born on November 11, 1929, to John and Agnes Biernat, in Chicago.
Delphine is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Paul Przyborski; children, Dave (Leigh) Przyborski, and his former wife Jane George, Judy (Bill) Noelle, Steve (Jean) Przyborski, Sue (Stan) Pozniak, Carolyn (Curt) Bazzoli, Mary (John) Sepulveda, and Shirley Skulimowski; grandchildren, Paul (Kate), Steve (Kaylan), Daniel, Joseph and Grace Przyborski, Allison and Billy Noelle, Tony (Dayna) Locaciato and Matthew (significant other Tarin English) Locaciato, Andrew (Katie) Pozniak, Ursula, Jonathan (Jenna) and Robert Sepulveda; brother, Edwin (Jean) Biernat; and many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends.
Delphine was a milliner by trade and made hats for the rich and famous on Michigan Avenue. She opened her heart and home to anyone in need. Delphine was a creative cook, hostess, and seamstress. Her talents included entertaining and designing anything from Halloween costumes to wedding gowns and veils. As a political community advocate, she was instrumental in getting a library built for her neighborhood in Chicago. Delphine was a Girl Scout leader and Den mother while her children were growing up. She was always willing to share her love, time, and talents in her church and community. Her most cherished ministry at her church was the St. Jude’s prayer group. But what made her most proud was the joy she received in raising her large family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and godchild Harrison McCray.
Visitation will be held from 3-9p.m., Wednesday, October 1, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
Visitation will continue from 9-10a.m., Thursday, October 2, at the funeral home, where transfer prayers will be said at 10a.m., for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
Burial will be held at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles following mass.
