Diane Cone

Diane Cone, 57, of Crystal Lake, passed away November 1st at home. She was born March 23, 1953 in Kalamazoo, MI to Harold Vern Helmer and Katherine Jane (nee Dowell) Helmer. She was employed at Midwest Council for Children with Disabilities as a volunteer coordinator and rehab tech. She was an an animal lover, especially her dogs Rowdy and Toby. Survivors include her son, David Austen Cone of Ann Arbor, MI; her daughter Nicole Ashley Cone of Crystal Lake; her mother, Katherine Jane Helmer of Irmo, SC; a brother, Brian Scott (Mary) Helmer of Greenville, SC; and nephews Todd and Matt Helmer of Greenville, SC. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Vern Helmer. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 2 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Diane's home. A service will also be held later this week at the Dunbar Funeral Home, 7600 Woodrow Street, Irmo,South Carolina, 29063, 803-732-2211.
