Dianne McKibben

April 25, 1939 — June 1, 2016

Dianne M. McKibben, 77, of Crystal Lake, was born April 25, 1939 in Chicago. She went to her eternal home, under the gentle care of JourneyCare Hospice, on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Woodstock.

Dianne was a passionate homemaker, mother and grandmother. Her deepest devotion was to God, but the love of her life was Tom, whom she treasured for 58 years. Together they cultivated a legacy of love, commitment and joy. Although she and Tom raised their family in Crystal Lake, she enjoyed sharing her memories of being raised as part of a large family in Chicago.

She and Tom owned and operated several small local businesses throughout the years. Dianne was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Thomas until her health no longer allowed. She was an avid crocheter who made and donated countless baby blankets to a variety of organizations. She also enjoyed travel, gardening, bird watching, and reading, but her greatest joy was gathering her family together to share all the delicious foods she loved to prepare.

Dianne is survived by her husband, Thomas McKibben; her children, Debra (Jeffrey) Minogue, Denise McKibben, and Dawn (Steve) Ahsmann; her grandchildren, Megan (Steve) Bucklad, Justin (Jennifer) Melahn, Cody Melahn, Erin (Brett) Manning, Kaitlyn Melahn, Nathan Ahsmann, Grace Minogue, and Annie Ahsman n; her great grandchildren, Keegan, Mason, Avery, Aurora, and Asher; her siblings, John (Laura) Radke, Paul Radke, Bill (Pat) Radke, Marge Kristan, Jim (Dorothy) Radke, Pat (Tita) McKibben, and Martha Hurm; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alice (nee St. Pierre) and John Radke; her sister, Lauretta Payton; and her brother, Bob Pruitt.

Visitation will be held from 9-11am, Monday, June 6, 2016 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, proceeding to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, for Mass at 11:30am. Interment at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to JourneyCare Hospice or St. Thomas the Apostle Outreach Ministry.
