The Funeral Service for Dolores Ruth Gaulke(nee Holtzee),75,  of Cary will be held at 10:30am, Saturday,at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation will be from 4-8pm, Friday at the Funeral Home.

Born April 14, 1937 in Barrington, IL, she passed away peacefully August 19, 2012 at her home.

Dolores graduated from Palatine High School in 1955 and attended banking school in Chicago. She worked at First National Bank & Trust in Barrington until 1961 when their first child arrived. She spent the rest of her time caring for her family. Dolores was an avid Chicago Cubs & Bulls fan, enjoyed collecting dolls and spending time with her grandsons. She was a very active member of the Cary United Methodist Church for 52 years where she taught 3-4 year olds Sunday School and worked in the nursery for over 22 years.

Survivors include her husband Benjamin P. Gaulke whom she married June 1, 1957 at St Paul United Church of Christ in Palatine; children, Dan (Kathy) Bates of Crystal Lake, Randal (Laurie MacDonnell) Gaulke of Gillette, NJ; grandchildren, Aidan Bates, Graham Gaulke; brother-in-law, Wally Yount; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Scott Gaulke; parents, Frank and Amanda (nee Went) Holtzee; brother, Harold Holtzee; sisters, Esther Mae Puffpaff and Vivian Yount.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Cary United Methodist Church Sunday School and Nursery programs, 500 North First Street, Cary, IL 60013
