Dolores E. Balayti Hall, 91, passed away peacefully, April 11, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois January 21, 1931 to Ellen Gladys and Joseph Balayti.
Dolores married John W. Hall in 1949 and together they raised 3 Children Jeffrey, Kevin and Maridell. In 1962 the family moved to Park Ridge Illinois where Dolores remained for over 55 years. She continued her work as a Legal Secretary in downtown Chicago. While downtown, most of her lunch hours were spent on State St. or Michigan Ave., shopping for bargains.
In 1984, after surviving Cancer, Dolores began writing in journals, soon after she attended writing workshops to hone her tool at University of Iowa.
In 1986, after Dolores’ husband passed from Cancer, Dolores submitted her humorous writing and was published in Senior News, The Seniors Review, Ontario and even a Magazine in India, all while working full time in Chicago.
Dolores had a vast array of friends from birth, school, work and volunteering. She enjoyed the Arts and loved a good Musical. Her sense of humor and quick wit were unmatched by many and she never acted or showed her age.
She was a lifelong supporter of St. Jude’s and Smile Train, as she had a heart for children and the less fortunate. Thankfully, she emphasized her work ethic and caring heart to her children and Grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her best friend and sister, Barbara Mindham, brothers Thomas and John Wirth, Children, Jeffrey Hall, Kevin Hall and Maridell (Brian) Markison; the Lights of her Life (grandchildren), Mathew (Erin) Hall, Emily (Stephen) Blonsky, Jennie Rizza, Megan (T J ) Liebetrau, John (Jessica) Rizza, and Ben Markison; 10 little sparklers (Great Grandchildren) Coralyn, Grace, Kenzie, Joseph, Aiden, Beau, Vivi, Jack, Evie and Eden.
