Dolores Toscano
June 12, 1931 — December 16, 2016
Dolores J. Toscano, 85, of Algonquin, was born June 12, 1931 in Burlington, WI to Clyde and Eleanor (nee Brownell) McKerlie. She passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 in Elgin.
Dolores or “Dee” as she was known to family and friends loved cooking and traveling and always had a place in her heart for animals. She also enjoyed gardening, bowling, and golf. Dee volunteered at Sherman Hospital for many years.
Dolores is survived by her children, Mark (the late Elisabeth “Libby”) Toscano, Beverly (Herbert) Ficken, and Linda (Terrell Goeke) Toscano; her grandson, Matthew Toscano; and her special companion, Richard “Dick” Kofsky.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Martin “Marty” Toscano; her son, Paul Toscano; and her siblings, Clyde McKerlie, Jr., Jean Caruso, and Harold McKerlie.
The family will receive guests from 4pm until 8pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014. A memorial service will be held at 11am, Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Cary United Methodist Church, 500 North First St., Cary, IL 60013.
