Don Russell
June 13, 1917 — August 19, 2014
Donald W. Russell, 97 of Lake Barrington and formerly of Glen Ellyn, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
He was born June 13, 1917 in Farmington, IL to William and Zeda Russell. Don was a veteran of WWII as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1938, and spent his working career as an Electrical Engineer with Commonwealth Edison.
Don is survived by his loving children, Lynne (Bill) McConaghy, and Ron (Nancy) Russell; grandchildren, Michael (Maricen) and Karen McConaghy, Jon Russell, and Lori (Scott) Floyd; and great-grandson, James Floyd.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his brother, Lee.
The memorial visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, October 5 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake. The visitation will be followed by a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. with Rev. Arn Scahper officiating.
