Donald Brandt

Donald Albert Brandt, 83, of Crystal Lake, was born August 20, 1932 in Edgerton, WI to Albert C. and Elizabeth (nee Lemke) Brandt. He passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, January 18, 2016 in Woodstock.
Don was a graduate of Beloit College, class of 1954. He worked his entire career as an underwriter in the insurance industry, most notably at Kemper Insurance in Long Grove, IL. He retired in 1991 and spent the rest of his days travelling, fishing in Canada, spending time with family, and cheering on the Packers.
Don is survived by his wife, Edith (nee Auby) Brandt, whom he married June 16, 1956 in Cottage Grove; his children, Peter (Pamela) Brandt, and Sara Brandt; his grandson, Joshua (Stephanie) Schoeneberg; his great grandson, Cael Schoeneberg; and his sister, Norma (the late Rodney) Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm, Friday, January 22, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 76 W. Crystal Lake Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014, where funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday, January 23, 2016. Interment will be held at 11am Monday, January 25, 2016 at Fassett Cemetery in Edgerton, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bethany Lutheran Church.
