Donald J. Kmiec

Donald J. Kmiec, 81, of Lake Barrington, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2019. He was born on October 12, 1937 in Chicago to Theodore and Eleanor Kmiec.

Donald was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was the owner of the restaurants, Polynesian Palms and Sylvia’s in Norridge until his daughter Carla was born. He devoted himself to being a fulltime father. Donald enjoyed a good game of cards and spending time with his family. He was the life of the party with a contagious laugh that will be missed by all.

Donald will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 34 years, Sylvia, nee Kim; daughter, Carla (Chance) Kleist; brother, Robert (Karen) Kmiec; god-son, Donald; god-daughter, Tabatha; nephews, Ted Jr., Larry, Michael, Tony, Robert Jr.; many loving friends also survive.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 3 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Mass celebrating his life will be Thursday, March 21, at 10 AM at Saint Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St. (Corner of Franklin and Ela Sts) Barrington, with a visitation at church an hour prior to mass. Entombment to follow at All Saints, Des Plaines.
