Donna Mullen Madden,59, of Barrington, passed away, Saturday, November 24,2012, in Barrington at the Pepper Family Hospice, after a lengthy and painful, but yet heroic battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on May 19,1953, to Thomas and Donna Mullen, in Chicago. Her life would seem far too short for many; those who were touched by her would understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Donna always enjoyed spending time with her brothers, sisters, many nieces and nephews and two Samoyed pets, Sheamus and Misha. Her gentle laugh, wry sense of humor and gracious style was felt by all who knew her and she was loved by all.
Donna was a life-long resident of Barrington, a member of St. Anne Catholic Church and the Advocate Good Shepherd Health and Fitness Center. She enjoyed traveling to warm and sunny locations and gardening around her home. Donna relished a great meal with wonderful wine, always celebrating with family and friends.
Donna is survived by her loving husband Michael; siblings; Kevin Mullen, Maureen (Michael) Stramaglio, Thomas (Kim) Mullen, Joanne Peppers, Jill (Ronald Jr.) Dritlein, Judy Persfull; nieces, Megan Brochu, Ashley Mullen, Jenna (Jason) Mammoser, Katelyn Mullen and Courtney Dritlein; nephews, Michael Stramaglio Jr., Sean Mullen, Ronald Dritlein III, Brian Persfull and Bradley Persfull; great nephews, Thomas Brochu and Dominic Mammoser; mother-in-law, Anne Madden-Holly and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her step father-in-law, Daniel Holly, and her parents.
Memorial visitation will be held from 9 a.m., until the time of mass at 10 a.m., Saturday, December 1,2012, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela Street (corner of Franklin and Ela Streets), Barrington, IL 60010.
