Donna was born on October 26th, 1942 in Chicago to Lester and Irene Claussen. She passed away on September 28th, 2015 at her home with her loving husband by her side.
She was welcomed into heaven by her family, friends, and the hundreds of patients she helped over her 50 year career as a compassionate and well respected registered nurse. Donna spent 38 of her nursing years at Advocate Good Shepherd hospital in Barrington.
Her infectious laugh, her beautiful smile, and her kind and gentle spirit will live on eternally through all those that knew and loved her.
Donna is survived by her best friend and husband of 50 years, Jim. She was a wonderful and devoted mother to her five daughters, Cara Pacholski, Lisa (Mike) Borden, Lora (Mohammed) Labadi, Cher (Andy) Hanson, and Dawn (Brad) Young. Donna was lovingly adored by her nine grandchildren, Ryne and Callie Borden, Serene and Zade Labadi, Macie, McKenna, and Norah Hanson, and Weber and Evrit Young. She is also survived by her honorary daughter Lori Sopocy, and dear friend Jeanne Plumb. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Loretta Andrews, and her source of inspiration, Dorothy Reese.
She was loved by so many and we considered her our angel on Earth, and now she is our angel in Heaven.
Memorial visitation will be held at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Avenue (Route 176), Crystal Lake on Saturday, October 10th, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. with a memorial service taking place at 11:30 a.m.
