Davenport Crystal Lake

Doris B. Lenzini, 90, was born in Woodstock, Illinois and passed away January 17, 2022. Her early childhood home was in Crystal Lake. Doris had many wonderful memories of the Crystal Lake Country Club where her father was the golf professional. Later her family moved to Waukegan where she graduated from Waukegan Township High School before attending and then graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Home Economics. She married Bob, her high school and college sweetheart in 1953 and would forever be in love and always cheering for the Fighting Illini. They raised two sons in Libertyville where they enjoyed watching them participate in many sporting events. Doris always lent a helping hand whether as a room mother, den mother, or substitute teacher. She was active in P.E.O., a philanthropic organization that promotes the advancement and education of women to help them achieve their aspirations. Doris and Bob moved to St. Charles in 1977 where they enjoyed many years in the Fox Valley. Doris went on to become the president of the local St. Charles P.E.O. chapter.  She was also a clothes model at the popular Little Traveler shop in Geneva. Doris will be remembered as a modest, graceful, supportive and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and good friend who will be dearly missed.

Doris is survived by her two sons Robert (Anne Marie) of Woodstock, and James of Batavia; two granddaughters Katharine (Steven) Tarczynski of Sycamore and Rebecca (Jason) O’Brien of Woodstock; one great grandson Eli Tarczynski; her sister Peggy McCabe of Deerfield; and four nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Forbes and Beatrice Leith; her loving husband of 60 years Robert Lenzini; her granddaughter Jennifer Lenzini; her sister Beattie Radcliffe; and her brothers-in-law Donald McCabe and David Radcliffe.
